Well - guess I've gotta start somewhere...

I've been dying to tell a story, now I've got something to talk about... my motorcycle, my shenanigans, my life.

April 22 was my son's sixth birthday, and his mom was planning on getting him a bicycle...

I guess this might have been the source of my longing...

The week of his birthday, I suddenly woke up with a desire to look at motorbikes again, since I haven't ridden in 15 years.

The next day, I went down to my local Honda dealer, and asked him if he has any sort of Cafe Racer style bikes... he said "how about the 919" to which I replied, a what?

so he showed me the bike. All logic and reason left me, as I was sure this was what I'd bee looking for.

While my son was with his mom, I picked up some cheap leather gloves, borrowed a leather jacket, and bought the cheapest helmet I could... then I took the bike for an hour test drive... and bought it as soon as I got back to the dealer.

Purchase Date - April 25, 2009 - 25,000km

So, now that I got myself the bike, I thought I'd start to do a little research into it... found a few good resources, including LDH's 919.org website.

Well, I was a little cautious of the jerkiness with the throttle in 1st gear, so I immediately ordered a 17T front sprocket, installed it, and am quite happy with what it does.

That was the only modification I intended to do... though I did peak, and the flapper mod had already been done, as well as SS brake lines on the front.

I got involved a little online with a few communities, got a few good runs in on the bike, put about 3000km on it until my first accident.
