| Alright already, I'm back on it!
(sorry if this is a repost, it's been a while) "Mutant Bike" My friend & I started this over two years ago. He moved away, we had another kid at my house, blah blah blah..you know how it goes. Painter called & said he's almost done. That puts a fire under my a**. '85 Kaw 750 Turbo (what else?!) Powder coated frame, '04 zx636 front end, swingarm, wheels, brakes, bar controls, digital guage in custom billet housing. Ducati Monster headlight, windscreen, & turn signals. Wiseco 810cc forged pistons, Dyna 2000, Horsepower Unlimited stage 2 turbo & race cams, TurboXS blowoff valve, handmade kevlar/composite fuel cell. Various parts ceramic coated/powder coated/anodised. Hopefully I've shaved a bit of weight off the original 550lbs. This one will not get the avgas high boost treatment but will be kept to about 10psi for approx 140hp +/-. All that's left is the wiring which is solely on me and I'm the slowest mechanic I know! I'm shooting for the end of Aug to get this puppy on the road. ![]() |

That's going to be extremely cool! Wish I had a bigger garage to mess with stuff, nothing like working on a project late in the night, cold beer in hand, classic rock on the radio. Seems that the only time I listen to classic rock radio is in the garage, partly because that's all that comes in strong, also because it brings back memories and seems appropriate.

Thanks fellas. Lost some motivation & really needed a cattle prod. We got the front on in one afternoon. The rear took three days to fit then sourcing an offset front sprocket & machining the rear sprocket carrier. |

| Some parts back from painter
Limited budget meant bartering for the paint job. The fairing had an imperfection in it so he's redoing it. I wanted a similar two-tone configuration as stock but with different colors so this is what we came up with.

Tach & speedo working. I still have to figure out the fuel light on the 636. With nothing connected to that wire, the lite flashes all the time. I have a 636 service manual somewhere so I'll get it.

I need one more day then it'll be rideable. The retired guy who made the guage housing for me said I should anodise it gold like the forks. I'm going to go for it. Bling baby! |

| it sort of became necessary when we hacked the keyswitch mount off the upper triple to make room for the gauge housing. it also has manual mode. I can tap a hidden button to switch on the igniton, then just start it as usual. Quote:
It's a Python from Directed Electronics. It has starter interrupt which I'll probably never use. The module itself is very small but we also had to use a multi-relay pack which was a little trickier to hide. Despite attempting to be very neat, there's a gnarly ball of wires under the tank. I may have accidentally killed the tach porton of the gauge. Oops. It's not registering even using the test method in the service manual. I had a helper so I'll blame him. The lens is scuffed anyway and I think I can get another gauge for less than just a lens would cost from Big K.

I was poking fun about the remote start It's really cool to see a completely custom motorcycle. I mean, you go to bike week and all you see is Christmas tree bikes and polished extended chrome swingarms...Not that there's anything wrong with that. Just nice to see real creativity. Between this and the PC-V I think it's about the coolest custom thing going right now... Although the 919 Enduro is pretty cool too. Let's see some action shots! Or a vid where we can hear the whine at speed! Maybe a couple of high speed passes (legal of course, let's not get a ticket!) |

thanks all! adamjayp-poke all the fun you want! it is a little over the top. The friend who helped me with the keyless ignition talked me into the remote setup as it's what he does everyday for a living. It has a safety override connected to the neutral light btw. ![]() My cage just launched a transmission so the projects are on a spending freeze for a few weeks. I still have to send out some parts for anodising, have a stainless pipe made, and get some body grommets n stuff. Maybe it'll finally get finished up just in time for freezing weather. haha. |
