Royal Choppers last build.

Here are some pics of the last bike I just built. My customer took delivery the other day. It has a 127 cubic inch Ultima engine with a 6 speed tranny. It is a big long bike but the owner is 6'3''. As you can see in the pic I am more than to short to comfortable ride it at 5'10''. It is loud and fast. No my style but to the tee of what my customer wanted. I buil everything from scratch except the sheetmetal. I did however alter the tank and rear fender. All comments welcome.

man that is KICK ASS!!! straight forward POWER!!! nothing fancy just lean and mean. your customer is really lucky. excellent work!!! what was the build time on that?

Thanks guys. Simple, Simple, and fast was key. The vertical oil tank is what is behind the primary. Everyone always mounts the oil tank horizontal under the seat so I tried to change it up a bit. The seat is actually really comfortable and life saver. Without a suspended seat a hard tail is rough to deal with.

wow! clean job! it's amazing how simple a bike can be when you take out the radiator mess and just go basic. the frame looks so empty!

very nice. a friend of mine built his first bike this year and is a similar design as that one. He did good for his first time but yours is top notch. It looks great.

Extremely clean and nice bike, did you weld up the frame too, you got some nice stretch and rake to it. RSD should keep it pretty nicely balanced with the fatty tire, what is it about a 240 or so?? I like the Vertical oil tank, all that open space under the bike seat really lightens up the look of it. Hard to see but you must have the Battery tucked down there by the Tranny. Excellent job!!

It is a 250 rear tire. The total rake is 48 deg. with a 4 inch trail, so it handles very light but stable. I welded and built everything except the sheet metal. I did however fab the battery box and oil tank mount off of the rear fender.

royal..., what do you think of the Ultima engine? Why Ulitima over say a TPI, S&S, RevTech, Patrick, R&R, or H&L? Did you go with a Baker 6-speed?

Again, great work, thanks for the additional info, thats nicer than a lot of the feature bikes you see in some of the mags. Have you ever thought of trying some of the Mini shocks they make now for under the seats instead of just the springs under the seat?

You need to open that shop you were talking about soon, doing that kind of work you should do great.

I went with the Ultima because it was a well priced American built engine. It has about 100 miles on it so far with no problems so far. S&S is the Nike of V-twin engines. They are good but overpriced. The tranny is a Baker copy. I have heard about too many issues about the Rev Techs. I considered a shock of sorts for the seat but preferred the traditional spring look for the is bike.

Never been a chopper fan but that is a nice looking machine right there. If i ever have one built or build one myself it would be lean like that... all business.

Very nice! The spoke wheels speak (spoke?) to me. I also dig the right-side drive and six speed. I'm gonna need to do this in my garage some day soon. Thing is, I'd love to build it, not so much to ride it.

Mighty fine. I'd love to see it up close and personal. You, my friend, have the touch. It is very nice to be a fellow forum member with a person with such talent. Can't wait to see what's next.

Thanks Bigdaa. We are fortunate at WT to have many knowledgeable and talented members. I think I will be building a CB550 powerplant bike for my wife next. I will start on that when I am done with the new GP exhaust setup.
