| Bitten | Mid Atlantic Get togeth - Sept 19th/20th - Virginia Beach - Little Island Park
TIME AND PLACE SET Little Island Park, Virginia Beach VA 23456 Sept 19th, 2009 - Shelter #1 3:30-6pm is the official time - 7am to 6pm is the unofficial time. The fishing peir remains open until 11pm. I have paid for the shelter rental, so this time is now in stone. Please make it if you can and have a good time. A new thread will start soon. Official attendence list... http://wristtwisters.com/events/2007...land-park.html ---------Old post..----------------- K, some some people seem to think a mid-atlantice shin dig would be nice to have somewhere like............... my place. After being to JoMoCo, I am not thinking I have anything to hold a candle to it. So, this will be a feeler question (I do not intend to do anythign till Aug at the earliest). 'What would you guys think is worth traveling for? If it end up just being the five or six local guys... we just pick a date and hang out. But if a lot of people wanted to show... Well, that changes things. --- Options... but we are not limited to this... (Daytime) Rent a Shelter at Sandbridge (Little Island Park) - Have a cook out and enjoy a day at the beach, swimming, goofing off (drining is prohibited, but be smart, and all is well - If you are gonna be on your bike, i prefer you not drink anyway), fishing from the peir, etc... Rent a shelter at Munden Point Park - near some back roads. Nothing epic, not near anything, but pretty and nice family environment. (Drinking Rules are the same) Rent a shelter at Woodstock Park (nearest my house) Get a horseshoe tourney going, cook out, and if enough interest, there is a softball field. All three options would be a nice relaxing day. --- Evening -- Party can move to my place. It is just a house on a small lot, so we will not have too many activities and neighbors so it cannot get out of hand... but it has AC! and a safe place to lock bikes up for the night. Party can move to my community pool (1 block from my place) It is a half olympic pool. It is pretty big and there is a fee and we would have to rent a lifeguard for the night. I believe we can use it till 11. Just another idea. Last idea... We rent a couple 15 people vans and bar hop. I would be happy to be a designated driver and I know another local 'non drinker' who may volounteer to be the other. There are tons of hotels, I have some floor space, and some tent space. ----------------------- This is just a feeler. it all comes down to how many people would be interested. I will get a bike and lead a ride through some back roads if people want on Sunday. Last edited by bloaker; 06-24-2009 at 10:17 AM. |

And if Midwest, Jetblast, or any other person who might consider flying in..... ORF is the closest Airport. PHF is the next closet. RIC is 1.75 hours away. Simpson may pick you up, but you have to ride bitch on the S3. |

I'm interested in a WT get together. If it were a time that I was available to come, I'd get a yard pass from the woman and head up there.

Hey Mike...Don't forget about Northwest River Park either. Not a bad place. They offer canoes for rent as well as paddle boats. I've taken my girls and the wife there. Pretty fun takin a boat out through the waterway they have there. It is also in the middle of some decent routes as well. |

Sounds like a great time, any of the choices. Look forward to finding out a date and seeing if I can make it work. Would be nice to meet more riders!

if I'm in town count me in... 4th of July I'll be in NY but should be here rest of the summer. Plenty of room for extra man passengers on the back of the S3. I suggest a token bike cookout, but where? My place/community is way too small. |

Corrolla (depending on where) may not have paved roads to the house and not one road with a curve for miles.... However - It is one of the more secluded and beautiful beaches on the NC coast. Things I need to know to make it worth everyones while... 1) Saturday cook out and chill, stay the night, Sunday ride? 2) Saturday Ride and Cook out? 3) Sunday Morning Ride, afternoon cook out? If a cookout 1) Beach 2) close to where the evening festivites will be 3) near bars 4) near riding roads 5) screw bikes, we will ride on Sunday -- Does everyone want to chip in for catering, or do Hotdogs, hamburgers and beans sound fine? BYO-Meat? lol. -- I have access to everything here everyday... so I ma just trying to make sure we do what people want from out of town. (part of why I am thinking the beach was the best idea) |

My only take is to have it where bikes can be riden to the location...Maybe it's not a big deal though but just seems to make since? There is always trailers as an option. Catering would get pricey me thinks...I say BYO meat and drinks...just kinda everyone bring a lil something. We could get a tally here as to who would bring what? |

If we would move forward on any of the parks suggested. I'm happy to contribute money and cooking help. I also offer up sleeping quarters to Dave if he should throw caution to the wind and decide to stay past an hour, heaven forbid an entire night. |

Mike: Any dates picked out yet? I'm planning the WT northeast BBQ, don't want any conflicting Sundays.

I vote for the Saturday Cookout- Sunday Ride. The 2 day option may be better for people who are traveling in, because it will most likely involve an overnite stay anyway...or for the locals who can only make one day, it would give options. |

Let me know what you may need (e.g., booze, cigars, a few whole tendrelions or prime rib, etc.). I drive by your place twice a week when I'm in country. Drove by your exit at about 3:30a this morning. Last edited by RC51_CBRXX; 06-22-2009 at 05:24 AM. | |

| Bitten | That is what i prefer as well. Wait for a few more to chime in and then we will play majority rules. If we decide on one day, I will open my house up to several out of towners to come enjoy the entire weekend at the beach.

If I finally get a trailer purchased it's possible that an asphalt 919 and yellow 599 might appear all the way from Indiana, all depends on the date and our schedules.

Sounds interesting, maybe I could gather up some NE members like H_Ryder and some of the Jersey and PA boys and we'll ride down.

Hey Mike, What about meeting at B.Gardens in Williamsberg VA. That's not too far from you, and I think they have cookout pavillions. That could be kinda fun.
