When you've reached the point in your hobby where there is no hope of ever stopping. Nicknaming your ride qualifies. (It's a compliment) + every minute 'twistin is a minute NOT wrenchin'. Now, GET BACK TO WORK! |

| Paul's cafe 001.jpg Last summer's project. Son Paul's CB400 SS. Check out the rising sun on the clearcoated tank. This winter we are tweaking the pipes, adjusting the rearsets and - oh yeah starting it up after replacing the rings. In such a hurry to finish the bike we never checked compression. It has compression now. Still deciding on whether or not to paint the CB550 and the 919 this winter. I like the smoke grey color of my '03 but I am a big fan of blue... It got up to 28' today - heat wave.... |

I'm broke, bored to tears, and barely have enough motivation to drag myself off the couch these past few weekends. Thankfully things are picking up around the office and I have enough to keep my mind occupied during the week. ![]() Sorry bro.....that's winter for some of us.

Alright I have a recently acquired 2002 TL1000r. Love the Vtwin grunt so I figured it would be a cool build, needs a frame forks and finishing touches. 500 bucks and it ran when I got it. Its got a van? Clear clucth cover some art exhaust (I think debadged) galfer lines and some other nick nacks. It was ugly, left bottom fork was broke off no title guy said guy before him lost it. Broke some damn header bolts off taking it apart so it had to go to the machine shop I've messed up to many times trying to extract a bolt. Probally gonna make a bad ass naked street fighter (hate that term) type deal out if it, but maybe just maybe I'll make a bad ass tracker out of it! 120hp vtwin tracker would be out of control! I'll take a pic of the pieces when I get it back here tomorrow. I'm pumped, can't wait to rip that twin a new one.

I've had my old Kz sitting for about 6 years. It just needs the cam chain adjusted. Pulled the carbs out about a year and a half ago and cleaned the out. Just need to adjust the chain and get it back together. I guess I need a battery as well.

Rickard, you sure you don't have little red neck in ya? That's how we southerners do it, let it sit around for years, dick with it for an hour relize its another hour from being done let it sit some more creating another couple hours worth of work. I see the Southern style shade tree technique is strong in this one.

Lol, glad you. Took that as it was intended as a joke. You need to throw a gran torino or similar ford of the era back there then move to alabama. I'm a high end red neck, all my dismantled shit is in the garage. All most all, there's a few pieces on my porch (back one for crying out loud) |

My 919 is in few pieces right now as I'm getting ready to paint a couple pieces in the next few months. My '79 XS750 is as together as it has been since I bought it but still needs some work. Everything's on hold for now. Got to wait for the broken bone in my hand to heal before I can turn wrench's again.

I have a ZX-6R and a ZX-10R ripped apart at the moment. ZX-6R is getting rebuilt. It was a salvage project that I'm putting humpty dumpty back together again. Not sure if I'm going to make it a track bike or sell it after the rebuild, depends on how much I have into it. ZX-10R is near new so it's only ripped apart because I'm doing mods and upgrades, all electronic gadget accessories for my annual motorcycle trip. This summer, if all goes well, the trip will be an epic 2 month extravaganza and maybe, just by golly maybe, I can meet up with some WT riders on the East Coast. |

Finally made some decent progress on Sunday, plenty left to do though. Got the maintenance part of my project done. This winter I am turning my wr250r into the best combo of a supermoto/trail bike/commuter that I can, can't afford everything I want to do but that's life. so far I have purchased: -risers -bars -handguards -LED turn signals front and rear -brake light/fender eliminator -stainless brake lines -supermoto wheels/tires/rotor -lower seat work done so far: -risers and bars installed -rear brake line in -fabricated brackets for front turn signals -lubricated cables -disassembled rear end to clean and regrease -oil change (standard winter procedure) still left to purchase: -front brake caliper for wr250x -front brake master cylinder (will have two complete front brake setups to swap out when I swap wheels) work left to complete: -bleed brakes (after I get the second set of front brakes) -wire in front signals -wire rear signals and taillight (will be splicing in a removable connector of sorts so I can unbolt and remove tail light/turn signals when I'm trail riding or at the track) -finish mounting the handguards probably forgetting something. here's my helper. |

made some good progress this weekend, got the new lights and wiring completed. all turn signals and tail light are connected with connectors so I can pull them all off when trail riding or at the track. handle bars are set where I want them with everything bolted on tight now. new handgrips and handguards are installed with flip out mirrors. they tuck in nicely behind the handguards so I don't have to remove the mirrors now when I hit the trails, just flip em in. and I don't have to lean away from the mirror anymore to see around myself like the stock ones. All I have left to do is order the wr250x front caliper and master cylinder, I've waited about as long as I can to find them used but I'm running out of time before riding season but other than the brakes it's ready to go. I can still use my dual sport wheels with my current brakes.

My 900RR streetfighter's been down for awhile....long story. The CA DMV shut me down. Since moving to Rocklin I've been a dirt riding fool anyway. I gotta get back to the track. |

| The word slowwwwwwwwwwwww still isn't accurate enough to describe the progress. Kids, work, dogs, wife, family, house, cars all seem to just suck the play hours right out of the day. I'm also super particular which doesn't help! The right side, front engine mounting tab of my frame is about 1/8 of an inch closer to the engine than the left side so I have the bike fully broken down to "motivate" it back into place. The 919 frame is really pretty but damn, it's beyond weak for anything but road use. I have two wrecked 919 donor bikes for this project and both of them suffered relatively minor crashes. Both frames are bent and out of square! When she's back in place, I'll be building a 1.25" square steel engine cradle / frame support to strengthen the frame. Time to melt metal!!!!!!!!!!!! |

RAaaaarrrrr!!! She lives! I got my first 50 miles of the season this evening. I took off from work a bit early to get the girl back in her plastics, give her a drink, and kick her out of the garage. Damn that felt good. |

I know here in Chicago we have a company that specializes in frame straightening. Maybe there's one near you that is better equipped. If not, take a few measurements yourself. Long, accurate measurements like from the exhaust mounting bolt on the tail to the main frame cross tube right in front of the engine. That won't help you measure twist but it will tell you if one of the front spars have been pushed back. I found that issue on both of my crashed 919 frames!
