| Speed Bleeder Part Number
Can anyone confirm that SB8125L is the right size/model Speed Bleeder for an '06 919? I've reviewed the manufacturer's site, just looking for confirmation. Has anyone found the seal on the Speed Bleeders to fail after multiple uses? I see they sell the sealant for this reason. Thanks http://speedbleeder.zoovy.com/catego...ley%20Davidson |

I've used speed bleeders on my old yamaha for a few years now with no problems. Easiest way to take a empty line to nice and full, and keep the fluid fresh.

You can use the SB8125 or the SB8125L. Both bleeders are 8 mm x 1.25. The 'L' is easier to attach tubing. Depending on the usage it can't hurt to buy the sealant.

Thanks for the info gents. Now, I have bleed brakes and clutches by the traditional method, but I have never completely removed a bleed screw/valve. Should I expect the fluid to come rushing out? I assume leaving the reservoir cover in place would minimze this, any input? Thanks again. |

Hey TJ - I bought speed bleeders for my 919 before I traded it in. They were never installed and are sitting in their packages in the garage. If you are interested in them, shoot me a PM.

The deal is done! Will try to install this weekend if I can shovel out the door to the garage...

I know this is an old post... just thought I'd bring it back instead of creating a new thread. Do you need their thread sealant or will Teflon tape do the job? |

Andrew, there is no need for any thread treatment given normal use (ie, 1 or 2 manipulations per year). I would NOT even think of using tape. |
