Sorry, but I must ask to be removed from the GB list as the type IV is being replaced w/ a vented model. Given that I ride in the rain a lot (like yesterday morning and maybe today - 40% chance), I only buy non-vented waterproof boots. No hard feelings, but please remove me from the buy list. Completely understandable D'art. Sorry, but we had to make a choice on this and the newer ones were really the better choice. Kudos to you though for riding - rain or shine. Here is a close up / larger shot of the boots Last edited by Aquila-RC51; 09-25-2009 at 06:08 AM. |

I PM'd everyone on the list that picked Type IV. So far, other than D'art seems everyone is good to go. Let me or MisterMike know. Cheers! |

i will assume my size would be a 45 (10 1/2 usa). As stated before i vary by who makes the shoes or boots. I could be any where from a 10-11 in usa sizing. If you could give me a boot brand who you think would be close in design I would go try some on to get a closer size that would fit but as it stands I would say a EURO 45 as i normally wear a 10 1/2 shoe and boot

Hey Mike, I'm going to have to go with d'Art on this on as well. In the Pacific NW, we generally don't buy things with holes in them if you know what I mean. I do appreciate the work in bringing a great deal like this to the forum. And yes, if you keep offering up deals like that, you will eventually get my money. Thanks again. |

Hello Would you please comment on a comparison of the type I verses the new type IV. I remember your comment that the type IV boots are vented thats ok, but I like the blk and the type I look less gladiator style... interested in the functional difference between the two. |

| TYPE IV BOOT CONSIDERATION
Hi All - It seems there were a number of people who were interested in the Type IV boots. I feel bad that Veloce's decision was to not add it to the line. In the near future, we can make the New Type IV without venting and no perforations - but that will take time. Since I brought this whole thing up, I feel obliged to explain things a little bit. Part of our reasoning is that the Type IV's are from a contract manufacturer and these boots are available under different brand names. I feel it is cheating the consumer when they are sold at different prices though they come from the same source. Also, one of our hall marks is that we don't follow a trend or pattern "just because"... we believe in what we do and the products we try to come out with and we will put rider safety and performance above most other things. The former Type IV boots are safe boots - the new Type IV are better boots. For the guys in the NW or wetter areas, I totally understand your points and empathize with you. From a supply standpoint, the Original Type IV's are available. If it would help and if there is enough interest (Say about 10 People), we will bring in the Original Type I's as a special order under this Group Buy and will keep it as a special order item under our ATRUM line. It will be available only in All Black though. Please let me know if it is something you would like us to do. As I have always said, Veloce is a rider's company and we try to satisfy the true needs of our customers - while maintaining our principles. So, let me know if we should bring them in. I am attaching the picture again. Cheers, Aquila |

AYE! Count me in for a size 47 black type IV I have one concern though. My calves currently measure 17.5 inches in diameter at a point 12" up from my heal. Do you think these will accommodate me? Also, please keep in mind the demand for wide sizes. You can add me to that list as well. Thanks |

As far as sizing goes, I will use me as an example. We all have one "fat" foot. This means we all have one foot that is slightly bigger than the other - so when trying on shoes, never rely on just one foot unless you know which one is your "fat" foot. For me, the Euro Size 44 is a snug fit. I usually wear a 10.5 / 44, but in these boots, I would go Size 45. It will leave me some room in the front of my foot but by the time I wear socks it will be okay. So, if you are a 10.5 or a 10 with wide feet, pick the Size 45. If you are a regular 10, then stay with the Size 44. As with most boots, these are not made out of supple leather. The leather is layered to make it water resistant it is PU Laminated leather, thus making it hard. The thickness runs about 1.8mm. What this means is that the boots DO need some breaking in time. Remember, they are designed to be slightly stiff or rigid. Hope this information helps.

Still up for the new type IV, I think my size should be a 46, I wear a 10.5 but need wide so maybe a 46 will help in the width area!

| Well..... hmmm... One Bellion Pennies? Target price for this group buy is $115 - $120 shipped within the US.Quote:
MM - I would keep him in a 45, two sizes over will create way too much looseness in the boots. Quote:
Ummm.... with the current exchange rate, economic factors and climate, and the limited bail out funds I think maybe... Three Beeeilllion ?!?! ![]() Last edited by Aquila-RC51; 09-28-2009 at 08:03 AM.

Hi Everyone - I realized this post and this move might get a little confusing. To make it easier, let's just call these boots the Type V (See attached picture). So, please let MisterMike know if you can the Type IV (Newer), or the Type V. Thanks! Quote:

So, the old Type IV is the new Type V, and the new Type IV is the old Type IV? I think I'm getting dizzy... |

Wow. Another setback. I'm confused a little bit here too - I had originally said a size 45 per a chart I saw (I wear a 10.5 shoe) but noticed where it was suggested to go up a size (to 11/46) because of the half size. I'm sure I was just reading it wrong, anyway, should I go with the 45 or the 46? I'll let the pro's decide. I've never had a euro-measured boot before. I did look inside my Nike's, and they say they're a 10.5US and a 44.5EU This is inline with what you were saying and I should get the 45... Aw Heck. Sorry to be a bother, but could you switch me back? (to the 45 I mean...) Thanks. |

Aye! If this little group buy is still hoppin' I'd be down to stuff my flippers into: Size 48 Type II Black / White or Type III Red / Black / White I'll keep checking the thread to see if styles / colors change. Any future option for almost all white? Looks good! Well done. I need a little bling in th closet. Have enough black to go around. |

Well I would like the original Type IV, which I believe is the new Type V. Same size, same color. But should I be concerned that it was replaced with a better boot? I don't think I want to buy vented boots just yet. I want a good pair and then have two pair.

...curses.. I thought that if my shoe size is 9.5 than my correct euro size would be 44. Is that correct? Sorry for the repeated shoe size questions.

I am still just worried after seeing how much the Type V twists. I do like the looks of the the new Type IV and I do like the fact that they are safer, I just don't like that they are fully vented. I feel like I am being too picky for the circumstances of this buy, I just want to make sure that I am spending my money on some boots that are actually protecting me as well as I should.
