Off season plans

What are you guys gonna do...
ive got some very IN YER FACE! adjustable rearsets and a 520 conversion with my current gearing planned.
i may also remove and clean my injectors, and flush my cooling system and remove my flapper and put in my gutted intake.

if all goes as planned i may be running some forged Magnesium wheels next season also.

If i have my way, ill score a pr of Brembo rotors, or something similar, some kind of aftermarket, rotors.

Plan to get a Job, because if I don't the off season for the 9'er will be permanent.

I'd like to work on a new exhaust system, but we'll see...

gutted intake is basicakly where you remove the flapper and then cut upen the intake duct and shave off all the plastic baffling things, and reseal it.
its a poor man's version of the HRC intake.

dont know about pics, because i lost my camera at NJMP this past weekend.

Offseason? What is that? It is in the mid 70s right now and beautiful outside. Will be going on the Phantom Thunder ride tomorrow at Ft Hood. Should be about 1300 riders for the trip. Heading over to the veterans cemetary for a memorial for the fallen soldiers.

So, what is this off-season thing you speak of? Is that when it is too hot to ride?

Don't get too bold. I remember being locked down on Fort Hood for three days following an ice storm. Winters are nicer there than here, but mother nature can be pretty twisted sometimes.

My only off-season are the days we actually get snow in the city, which is just a few days each year. A few days this week it's been about 40 degrees and raining when I leave for work. A little wet but not a bad ride. The rides home are almost 60 degrees. Keep the snow away and I'll be good...

Mines tucked away for the off season. Other than some different rear-sets and carbon side panels I've done pretty much everything I'd like to do to her.

And it's snowing pretty heavy outside here right now 3' plus feet out in the Hills right now, 3-6" expected here.

Slippery on the way home and than just walked up to get my old huntin truck, which needed some new brake lines and I had to put the thing in 4x4 as I was slippin all over with it.

Looking to add another bike to the stable again, havent had something sporty in the garage since the 954 left this spring. Actually looking at some that have some damage as I dont mind the winter project of fixing up, if I can get em cheap enough. I dont care about resale and you know I wouldnt be able to leave it stock anyway.

you have an RC?
would you by any chance be interested in a aftermarker rear wheel?
i bought one with the intention to retrofit it, but it wont fit my RR, without custom machined spacers.

http://www.1000rr.net/forums/showthread.php?t=54391

lemme know.

Cmon man, I'll even cut you a 2 for 1 deal on these rims. I have no use for em. And I really don't wanna chance machining new spacers and measuring and cutting and all that.

Off season, hmmm....

On the 919 I have visions of completing the black powercoating. Tear down the front end, black out the forks and triple trees, as well as the side frame brackets. If I really get rolling I might lightly polish the swing arm and outer edge of the wheels. Needs an oil change and overall maintenance as well.

On the 599 I need to replace the speedo housing, have had a new one in the garage ever since we bought the bike. Also need to modify the kickstand so it sits more solidly since the bike's been lowered. Have some cool Hornet decals for the rear cowling as well.

FJR and Vulcan 500 need nothing other than a good bath and some gas stabilizer before they go under cover.

The 350 Four is the big project this winter, want to take it all apart, clean and polish everything, work on the carbs, have the gas tank cleaned out, and make it run!

The BSA will probably continue to sit sadly under an old blanket leaking oil on the floor.

Now, how much of the above I'll actually get done is the big question. I can guarantee that I'll meet my goals with the FJR, Vulcan and BSA though!

Located in Copperas Cove, just west of Ft Hood. I work on Ft Hood and live about 10 minutes away from work. Kinda sucks....bike is hardly even warmed up when I get there.

I did like the Hi Point...I'll think about it. Is it the same width and diameter as an OEM?

Same size and width as OEM much lighter, and has a sick "cush drive" that minimizes drive loss.
I actually bought it from Mike.

10 cords of wood cut and split, prepping the snow blower this w/e. 919 is up on stands and probably won't be touched until Spring. Tearing apart the Triumph and Honda CM250, going through every nook and cranny on both bikes and replacing any age related issues. Finally have the wife talked into making the CM a cafe project as she's short and cafe style would actually fit her better.

Ive got a couple that I didnt complete -

#1 - 1993 ZX7 trackbike - I got this bike in a couple of parts, frame, forks, and wheels together - engine laying in floor along with a ton of parts. Got Frame/subframe powder coated and my inside sources @ Ohilins are building me a Scott Russel daytona spec one off shock for it and thats where it stopped -

#2 - 1992 ZX7R - got lined up for fine dialing in and getting flat slides to work correctly

#3 - 1993 CBR 600F2 streetfighter project - got this bike and a pallet- must put back together and paint everything black !

#4 - 1972 Yamaha R5 - gonna cafe this one, its nice, but, it would take alot of work to get it back to show level

#5 - 1976 Suzuki RE5 - got a guy lined up to get this beast back running, he is even anxious about it ! Whne his work load gets lighter, its going to the shop !

Really, really nice ! I got it from the original owner ( bought it April 3 , 1976 ), its totally original, from the tires to the tool kit and only has 1473 miles on it - it turns over pretty well and seems to have decent compression but the carb is totally filled with dry tarnish and I just dont know wnough about those carbs to even look at them . Come to find out a buddy of mine went to school on thme when he was first starting out as a tech way back in '76 so hes looking forward to gettign to mess with it.

measureing i could use help with, drawing, i could probably do myself, but the biggest measuring is not for the spacer, but for the wheel widths for comparison.

stock rim is sold.

Lucky me, i met a guy that has a RC51 that he bought a while back and it had a Brembo 19x18 Master Cylinder. He thought it was more bling than he needed on a street bike, so i traded my stock 1k RR master and lever and reservoir for his Brembo setup.

so now i have a 19x18 Brembo MC on my bike, and i frickin LOVE IT!!!
