Is natural weight..a benchmark from several super size double whoppers with cheese washed down with a sixer each day? You are a couple inches taller than me and live in a high obesity state. No one has accused me of emaciation. You get an attaboy for making positive diet/exercise changes. Be patient, it takes time for the bike to get faster. | |

| Yup, now you know why. Try stuffing 50lb in your tank bag and see how slow your bike is. My best performance mod was dropping weight, and now everything is better! Barton, Nice positive diet changes, keep it up! Last edited by dream; 07-16-2009 at 05:58 PM. |

Something I keep seeing in this thread is the word, "Fast" and the concept of 60 to 80 times and such.. When I think about it, that argument doesn't make a lot of sense. When I push my bike hard, I like to know it's "there", and it is. If I was on a VFR, the power would definitely roll on differently as it definitely did when I rode one but as Barton surmises, "What is the point of a couple of tenths of a second?". Absolutely nothing unless you live and work at a track, which most of us don't. Not to kiss as$ but I have to agree. Even though I am mostly a commuter and ride mostly straight up, the best part of the ride is in the twisties on the weekends. I'm convinced that ninety percent of this discussion is testosterone and youth driven and it should be, as that's where the innovation comes from. But there is something to be said for not only appreciating the power but lusting with the handling of a similar bike that does everything you want it to. Especially one with "Mary" on the back. Arguing about a couple of tenths on acceleration is just ignorant unless you are paid to ride for that tenth.. I've passed many bikes and have them blow past me later in a corner...That's on me. I'm the idiot, fine.. But I also made it home, didn't make it on the local news, and I enjoyed the ride. Like I said before, I have always wanted a VFR, but I have a CB... I love my 919 but there are always things that I want it to do better. I do what I can afford and I'm pleased, but I still want a VFR.. It's a great friggin bike with a $hitload of potential. I guess I got over the small crap and comparing length thing long ago. |

540 pounds of fueled up motorcycle is a bit much for me. My little 600RR is very comfy. It weighs about 411 fueled. Having to sling an extra 130 pounds around sounds like a lot of work.
